What is StemCellCare?

StemCellCare is part of Future Family Insurance. We provide specialist insurance for babies and children.

Traditional private medical insurance does not typically include stem cell therapy so we created StemCellCare to provide an up-front payment that can be used where, when and how you wish - it’s your choice.

StemCellCare is an insurance policy should your child need to use their stored stem cells for treatment. Our cover provides a minimum of £75,000 for an appropriate procedure and every claim is reviewed by an independent panel of medical experts to ensure that you are treated fairly. Unfortunately, we cannot cover children who are already suffering from a condition that could be treated by stem cell therapy.

Choose Your Level Of Cover

StemCellCare - Provides £75,000 benefit, payable as £6.42 for 12 months or £77 as a single premium. This covers the donor child only.

StemCellCare Plus - Provides £150,000 benefit payable as £11.83 for 12 months or £142 as a single premium. This covers the donor child and all biological siblings.

Please note that the most cost effective way to purchase these products is as a single premium.

These are annual policies. We will contact you shortly before your renewal is due to confirm whether you would like cover to continue.

Whichever you choose, all policies cover almost 80 conditions where a Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) is an approved treatment - such as leukaemia or neuroblastoma. A summary of all of our policies can be found here.

Remember, StemCellCare provides £75,000 of cover, StemCellCare Plus provides £150,000 and includes biological siblings.

Making a Claim

Should you need to claim, you will automatically be referred to an independent panel of medical experts. The panel comprises multi-disciplinary, independent advisors who work in the field of stem cells therapy every day. They will review your claim impartially and advise the insurers whether to pay or not.

Claims will be paid when the diagnosis is for a covered condition and in the opinion of the panel a Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant would be more beneficial than any other established alternative.

Unfortunately, we cannot cover children who are already suffering from a condition that could be treated by stem cell therapy.
